We’re creeping closer to the 2024 NFL Draft, which is set to run from 25 Apr 2024 – Sat, 27 Apr 2024 and will be hosted at Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza in Detroit, Michigan. Stick around as we reveal what generational talents will be picked up and their impact on the league!
Caleb Williams, USC
Caleb Williams is the best quarterback in college football and has been incredibly consistent throughout his two years at USC. He’s a dual-threat quarterback who can get the first down via his arm or feet. He’s also creative and has a powerful arm, which he’s not afraid to chance.
Williams won the Heisman Trophy in 2022 and continues to improve. During the 2023 season, the 22-year-old racked up a career-high 12 touchdowns and combined it with a career-high 68.6 passing percentage.
Marvin Harrison Jr, OHIO STATE
Marvin Harrison Jr has some big shoes to fill as he tries to add to the family’s NFL legacy. But based on his physical size, that shouldn’t be a problem. Marvin Harrison Jr. is 4 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier than his father. This elite wide receiver is incredibly physical, but he also has super reliable hands and can run routes in his sleep.
Harrison Jr. has been tearing it up at Ohio State. In 2023, he racked up 1,200+ receiving yards and added 14 touchdowns, which is the exact same number of touchdowns he achieved in 2022. We expect him to make an immediate impact in the NFL.
Drake Maye, NORTH CAROLINA
Caleb Williams isn’t the only elite quarterback declaring for the NFL 2024 Draft. Drake Maye’s gunning for the number one pick. Maye may even have a better NFL-level arm than Williams. The 21-year-old can make any throw and has the power to throw it deep. However, he’s still a bit unreliable and throws too many picks. If he can improve his decision-making, then he should have no issues adapting to the NFL.
Olumuyiwa Fashanu, PENN STATE
Olu Fashanu is a straight beast! Standing at 6 ft 6 and weighing in at 317 pounds, good luck getting around this unit. He isn’t just an imposing figure, he moves incredibly well on the gridiron and is the best pass protector to come out of college in a while. He’s incredibly dominant when he comes to pass blockers, and there are a lot of NFL quarterbacks who would want him protecting them. The only thing he needs to improve is his rush blocking. He needs to be a little more tenacious and get off the line faster.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Penn State player deals with elite-level NFL pass rushers. But based on what we have seen in college, he should be dominating the line of scrimmage in the pros.
Brock Bowers, GEORGIA
Brock Bowers is by far the best tight end in college and has absolutely torn it up for Georgia over the last two years. He isn’t just a receiving tight end, Brock Bowers is an incredible blocker and will help any NFL team he lands on.
The 6 ft 4 21-year-old played just seven games in 2023 but lit it up! He had 47 receptions for 567 yards and scored four touchdowns. Don’t be surprised if he gets a few touchdowns in his rookie year in the NFL.
Laiatu Latu, UCLA
NFL teams are always on the lookout for talented pass rushers who can put pressure on the NFL and score valuable sacks. Laiatu Latu’s the clear number-one pass rusher in the 2024 class and should be selected early on in the draft. Latu dominates his opponents thanks to his speed off the mark, ridiculous reaction time, and ability to parry amounts away with his hands.
Joe Alt, NOTRE DAME
They don’t come much bigger than Joe Alt, who bullies opponents with his imposing 6 ft 8 frame. This elite offensive tackle is a nightmare to try and get past. He took a big jump in level in 2023 and has really learned to use his size and significantly improved his technique.
So there you have it, the NFL 2024 Draft is filled with everything from future superstar quarterbacks like Caleb Williams to dynamic Tight Ends like Brock Bowers to crazy athletic rushers like Laiatu Latu. Tune into the draft on the 25th of April to see who your favorite teams pick up, but the Chicago Bears would be crazy not to take Caleb Williams number one!
